When did your Parish Council last update their Standing Orders and Financial Regulations?
The latest version of the NALC Standing Orders was published in 2018 and the Financial Regulations were last updated in 2019 (although this was just for a few minor updates from the 2016 version).
You don’t need to include the temporary Coronavirus procedures in them as these are due to finish in May.
But… if either of your documents are any older, please update them – there have been a lot of changes to legislation over the last few years and the documents have been updated accordingly. Your local County Association will have them available – make sure your Parish is a member.
It’s also good practice for the Parish Council to review them at least every couple of years, if not annually to check that they are still appropriate.
